The highly anticipated Alcheringa, the flagship cultural festival of North-East India, recently hosted an unforgettable event titled “Highway to Alcher.” With LucknowPulse as the event’s Media Partner, the youth event culminated at the Babu Banarasi Das University (BBD University) in Lucknow on October 28, 2023. It served as a captivating journey into the realm of art and talent, featuring a slew of exhilarating competitions, including Voice of Alcheringa, SUTUCD, Electric Heels, Dancing Duo, Poetry Slam, Mehfil-e-Alcheringa, and Halla Bol.
“Highway to Alcher” brought together an eclectic group of budding talents, all fervently vying for the chance to showcase their skills on the grand stage of Alcheringa. This renowned cultural extravaganza is meticulously organized by the students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati.
Notable Highlights from the Event:
- Voice of Alcheringa: The vocal competition witnessed awe-inspiring performances that left the audience spellbound. Contestants displayed their vocal prowess, making the selection process intensely competitive.
- SUTUCD: An electrifying and dynamic dance competition that had the audience on their feet. The talent on display served as a testament to the dedication and passion of the young dancers.
- Poetry Slam: The poems presented at this competition were filled with vivid and evocative imagery, painting captivating pictures in the minds of the judges. As expected, a city with a rich literary heritage like Lucknow did not disappoint in this regard.
The distinguished panel of judges, experts in their respective domains, faced the challenging task of selecting the most outstanding performers to represent Lucknow City at Alcheringa 2024, which will be hosted at IIT Guwahati. “Highway to Alcher” became a celebration of creativity and a demonstration of unity among the youth of Lucknow, transcending boundaries and cultural diversities. This event underscored Alcheringa’s unwavering commitment to promoting art, culture, and emerging talents.
