Highway to Alcher: Alcheringa auditions at Lucknow

Alcheringa, IIT Guwahati is known to give platforms to the students from top colleges all over India, to showcase their talent in various forms, let it be singing, dancing, or poetry. After 2 years of the fest being online and in hybrid mode, Alcheringa has now again all set to host a full fledged event, curating the best performers from various colleges by conducting auditions, in various cities. It is worth noting that such impressive programs and auditions held at multiple locations are being managed by the college students themselves. Alcheringa is not only known for all the fun it holds but also helps in youth empowerment as it gives a platform to groom talent to grow and yield the best of it. LucknowPulse supports the spirit and the initiative of holding the Alcheringa auditions at Lucknow.

LucknowPulse, known for its dedication for Lucknow – the Capital city of Uttar Pradesh with the awe-inspiring culture, came together with Alcheringa, the biggest cultural fest of Northeast India, to collaborate for the auditions held at BBD University, Lucknow on 19th November 2022. It was a great opportunity for the students to venture out of their comfort zone, use their innovative minds, perform and inspire other young aspirants of all platforms to take a step further to pursue their interests.

Alcheringa along with team Aaina of BBD University organized various competitions where the winner would then get a chance to go and participate in IIT Guwahati from 2nd Feb to 5th Feb, with a hundred percent travel reimbursement. The auditions started off in the morning with “So you think you can dance” –  a solo dance competition, followed by Halla Bol, a Nukkad Natak; Electric heels, a group dance competition; Voice of Alcheringa, a solo singing competition; Poetry Slam, and finally ended with Mehfil-e-Alcheringa, a Shayari competition, something that has been Lucknow’s cultural identity.

The participants surprised the audience with their talent and skills. The level of the benchmark set by all the participants was indeed commendable. Each performance deserved appreciation. The judging partners were Meesha’s theatre, Sangeet Kamal Sansthan, Meerut Toastmasters club, Vipinxroshni, The Poet House as the literary partner, smartcity Lucknow as the media partner, Lucknowmerijaan7 as the branding partner and Lucknow Pulse as the Outreach Partner.

Alcheringa gives their message that they aim to bring the most diverse and the best of all talents to a national platform where the talented young Indians can prove their worth.

It was an amazing day not only for the winners and participants but even for the crowd and the judges. The event ended with an amazing response from all and marked an unforgettable experience for all those who were present.
