2. Meena Shah (born on 31st January 1937) was a national badminton champion of India. Shah won the Senior National Badminton Championships for seven years in a row (from 1959 to 1965) and also won the women’s doubles title three times and the mixed doubles crown twice. She was a recipient of the Padma Shri and the Arjuna award.
3. Kunwar Digvijay Singh (2 February 1922- 22 March 1978), popularly known as “Babu“, was an Indian field hockey player, who is regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He was born in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. He is widely known for his mesmerizing passing ability and is considered by many to be the greatest dribbler of the game comparable only to Dhyan Chand.
4. Rudra Pratap Singh was born in 1983 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and is a former Indian cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. He was also a part of the Indian team which won the 2007 T20 world cup.
5. Ravinder Pal Singh (6 September 1960 – 8 May 2021) was an Indian field hockey player. He was part of the Indian hockey team that won the gold medal in the 1980 Summer Olympics at Moscow. Apart from hockey, he enjoys playing football. He worked in State Bank of India, Lucknow as P.O. and took voluntary retirement.
6. Akhilesh Das Gupta, born on March 31, 1961, attended Colvin Taluqdars College in Lucknow, where he earned a Diploma in Public Administration, an LL.B., an MBA, and a Ph.D. in Management. A distinguished badminton player, he competed at the national level and represented Uttar Pradesh from 1977 to 1983, also participating in various international badminton tournaments on behalf of India.

The stadium is located near the busy Hazratganj area of downtown Lucknow, in the heart of the city. The KD Singh Babu Stadium metro station lies towards the south-west of the stadium. It has a seating capacity of 25,000. It does support floodlights for day night matches. The stadium is also the home of the Uttar Pradesh cricket team.
Guru Gobind Singh Sports College
Guru Gobind Singh College, Lucknow (Established in 1975) is a residential sports college in Lucknow is a residential sports college in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It offers sports training in football, hockey, wrestling, athletics, badminton swimming and kabaddi in 6th to 12th standard and with the curriculum of U.P. Board. It is the first sports college established in Uttar Pradesh before Vir Bahadur Singh Sports College in Gorakhpur and Etawah’s Saifai Sports College.

Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium is an indoor sports venue in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Said to be established in 2008, the stadium is commonly used for indoor sports including Badminton, Table Tennis and Kabaddi. The stadium also has open-air Lawn Tennis courts for grooming young tennis players.
