One of the best things one can do is inspire others. Inspiration can motivate you and give you the courage to dream up new ideas. Asma Hassan and Syed Rushdi Hassan are such people who inspire and encourage women to dream big and provide them with a platform to showcase their unique ideas and creativity to the public. Powered by LucknowPulse, Salempur Estate and POSH by Asma Hasan are organizing Begum Fest 2022 Winter Edition. BegumFest theme for this season is “ Rooh-e-Lucknow: The Mohallas of the City”.

After the success of the maiden season of BegumFest in March 2022, the cultural festival is back with its winter edition. As expected, the event will take place at Salempur House, Qaiserbagh, Lucknow. The dates are 16th, 17th and 18th December 2022. It is a cultural festival happening in the royal heritage zone of Lucknow. Salempur House is close to Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwa Vidyalaya, Safed Baradari, Kotwara House and Mehmoodabad House. Salempur House itself is a treat for the eyes, for the people who admire heritage buildings and architecture.

BegumFest 2022 Winter Edition will be inaugurated by Dr. Roshan Jacob, IAS(Lucknow Commissioner) who will be in conversation with noted filmmaker, painter, artist, and author Padma Shri Muzaffar Ali about his autobiography “Zikr”.

Photo Exhibition

You can enjoy the photo exhibition featuring the work of an award-winning Indian photographer Mosaddiq Reza Qummi. The curator of this photo exhibition is writer S.N Lal who is well known for his articles and priceless efforts towards the preservation of Awadh’s culture and heritage.

 

Experience the nostalgic from the bylanes and heritage houses of the old Mohallas of Lucknow as Adity Chakravarti engages in a conversation with historian Dr. Roshan Taqui. You will get to enjoy the Qissagoi by the famous Dastango and author of the book “ Qissa Qissa Lucknowwa” Himanshu Bajpai as he speaks about the Lakhnawi through a number of interesting anecdotes.

Apart from the above highlights, many other literary cultural activities will take place such as Mehfil-e-Tassawuf with Ali Sufi Brothers who will mesmerise the audience with a round of qawwali, storytelling (Qissagoi) with light and sound show, talks and discussions, youth and children fest, Gulabo Sitabo puppet show. An exhibition of handicrafts, home decor and tasteful Awadhi food stalls, along with stalls of Turkish Ice Cream, Chai, and many more.
